Crude oil prices are making a slow return to higher levels following losses from last week and rose more than half a dollar in Monday’s trading. At the same time, Oklahoma energy stocks made gains too.
West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery went up 66 cents to settle at $81.93 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for January delivery rose 69 cents or 0.83% and finished the day at $83.43 per barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Natural gas for December delivery closed down 9 cents or 2.50% at $5.43 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Monday brought gains for many Oklahoma energy stocks including NGL Energy’s more than 7% increase and the 5% jump for Continental Resources.
