Writer says wind “myths” hurt Kansas wind industry

One writer who describes herself as a renewable energy expert contends “myths” are hurting the wind energy economy in Kansas.

Writing in the Kansas Reflector, Dorothy Barnett says the benefits of the wind industry to local economies are “often overshadowed by fear about wind energy.

“These misleading campaigns are costing rural communities millions of dollars, both in direct payments to landowners who need the money to keep their farms viable, and to local communities that benefit from the developer investments and additional tax revenue,” stated Barnett.
