Oil prices slip on news of possible US-Iran nuclear deal

As some analysts predicted a renewed nuclear deal with Iran could affect crude oil prices, it did on Tuesday’s trading.

Oil prices fell from a two-month high and it came after reports indicated the U.S. and Iran are making progress on reviving the deal restricting the OPEC country’s nuclear weapons development, a deal that would boost crude supply.

Just as oil prices came close to the $70 a barrel mark overseas and also rose in the U.S. on Monday, they dropped in Tuesday’s trading.

Global benchmark Brent crude for July delivery fell 75 cents to $68.71 a barrel in ICE Futures Europe.

In the U.S., West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery dropped 78 cents and finished at $65.49 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

June natural gas fell 10 cents to $3.01 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Most Oklahoma energy stocks also dropped in Tuesday’s trading. However, one marked exception was Mammoth Energy Services which had a 10.19% gain on a 32-cent increase to $3.46 a share.

Others didn’t do so well.

Alliance Resource Partners, LP fell 32 cents for a 4.93% loss to $6.17.

Blueknight Energy Partners LP rose 4 cents for a 1.10% gain to $3.67.

Chesapeake Energy went up $1.31 for a 2.62% gain to $51.30.

Cimarex Energy Co dropped $1.73 to $72.52 for a 2.33% loss.
Continental Resources, Inc. lost 3.25% on a $1.04 fall to $30.92.
Cypress Environmental Partners LP rose 5 cents to $2.25 for a gain of 2.27%.
Devon Energy Corp lost 3.53% as shares fell 96 cents to $26.24.
Enable Midstream Partners LP went down 16 cents for a 1.80% loss to $8.71.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. finished at $29.77 with a 3.06% loss on a 94 cent fall.
LSB Industries Inc. lost 1.97% on a 13 cent decline to $6.48.
Laredo Petroleum Inc gained 3.27% as shares rose $1.58 to reach $49.89.
Magellan Midstream Partners LP closed down 53 cents for a 1.06% loss to $49.26.
Matrix Service Co. slipped 4 cents to $12.05 for a loss of 0.33%.
NGL Energy Partners LP was unchanged at $2.23.
OGE Energy Corp. went down 27 cents for a 0.80% loss to $33.53.
ONE Gas Inc. dropped 33 cents to $73.85 for a 0.45% loss.
ONEOK, Inc. fell $1.05 to $53.98 for a loss of 1.91%,
Ovintiv Inc. closed down 90 cents for a 3.35% loss to $25.97.
PHX Minerals Inc. finished up 3 cents for a 1.03% gain to $2.95.
SandRidge Energy Inc. was unchanged at $5.33.
Unit Corporation finished the day unchanged at $14.75.
Williams Companies fell 20 cents for a 0.75% loss to $26.33.

Energy Transfer LP (ET) down 0.04 at 10.37 – change 0.39%

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) down 0.26 at 23.91 – change 1.08%

EOG Resources (EOG) down 2.13 at 82.97 – change 2.51%

ExxonMobil (XOM) down 1.76 at 60.43 – change 2.84%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) down 0.09 at 18.71 – change 0.48%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) down 0.29 at 11.93 – change 2.30%

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) down 0.52 at 17.43 – change 2.90%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) down 0.52 at 25.87 – change 1.98%

Phillips 66 (PSX) down 1.04 at 86.76 – change 2.19%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) down 2.66 at 158.37 – change 1.66%
