Williams announces early in-service capacity for 3 natural gas projects

Williams says early in-service capacity at some of its new operations including a new line delivering natural gas liquids to a line near Kingfisher, Oklahoma resulted in an earlier-than-expected fourth quarter cash flow for the company.

The Tulsa-based company said the early in-service production was for expansion projects designed to serve growing demand for clean energy in the U.S.

One of the projects is the Bluestem Pipeline, a 189-mile, 16-inch natural gas liquids line that originates at the MidContinent Fractionation and Storage LLC’s facility in Conway, Kansas. It delivers NGLs to the Targa Resources pipeline system near Kingfisher. The Bluestem can carry 120 Mbbls/d in NGLs.

“Now more than ever, the essential natural gas infrastructure projects Williams delivers are critical to the United States’ clean energy future, and we take pride in living up to our long-rooted reputation of doing a good job on time,” said Alan Armstrong, Williams president and chief executive officer.

Two other projects brought online early were Transco’s Leidy South which is an expansion of Williams’ existing Pennsylvania energy infrastructure, and Southeastern Trail, another Transco transmission expansion project serving demand in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern U.S.

The company credits its proactive engagement and open communication with stakeholders throughout the permitting and regulatory process as well as expeditious and COVID-safe project execution for completing major projects ahead of schedule and under budget.
