Brent crude settles above $52 level

Crude oil futures overseas and in the US rose again on Friday with West Texas Intermediate settling above $49 a barrel.

WTI managed a gain of 1.53% on a 74 cent increase as shares finished the day at $49.10 a barrel for January delivery in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude for February delivery jumped 87 cents for a gain of 1.69% to settle at $52.37 on the ICE Futures Europe.

Natural gas also increased for the day, up six cents to settle at $2.70 per MMBtu for a gain of 2.43%.

Three Oklahoma energy companies made strong finishes in Friday’s trading with Chesapeake Energy leading the way with a more than 16% gain as shares jumped 31 cents to finish at $2.19.

Mammoth Energy Services Inc followed with a 40 cent jump in stocks and a gain of more than 11%, finishing at $4.02.

PHX Minerals Inc rose 23 cents to settle at $2.51 for a gain of more than 10%.

In other stocks, Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. had a one gain increase to settle at $5.03. Blueknight Energy Partners LP was unchanged at $1.80 for the day. Cypress Environmental Partners LP finished with a one cent increase to $2.41.

Devon Energy Corp lost 47 cents for a 3% drop to $15.63. Enable Midstream Partners LP finished up two cents at $5.66. Gulfport Energy Corporation suffered a more than 8% drop to 6 cents a share.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. dropped 31 cents to $24.93 for a loss of 1.23%. LSB Industries, Inc. lost 17 cents and finished the day down nearly 6% at $2.81. Laredo Petroleum Inc gained 33 cents to settle at $20.39 for a 1.65% increase.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. dropped 94 cents to $44.38 for a loss of more than 2%. Matrix Service Co rose 29 cents to $9.83 for a more than 3% gain.  NGL Energy Partners LP lost 6 cents a share for a 2.16% decline to $2.72.
OGE Energy Corp. dropped 38 cents to $31.1 for a loss of 1.21%. 
ONE Gas Inc lost $3.15 per share to finish at $78.25 for a drop of nearly 4%. ONEOK, Inc. lost 86 cents and settled at $39.87 for a decline of 2.11%.
Ovintiv Inc finished down 16 cents at $14.90 for a 1% loss. SandRidge Energy Inc. dropped to $3.15, a 19 cent loss or nearly 6% decline. WPX Energy Inc settled at $8.05 on a 22 cent loss or nearly 3% decline. Williams Companies Inc lost 62 cents or nearly 3% to finish at $21.18 per share.
They weren’t the only energy companies to see setbacks at the end of the week, according to the Texas Energy Report.

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) down 0.23 at 20.56 – change 1.11%

EOG Resources (EOG) down 0.38 at 51.77 – change 0.73%

ExxonMobil (XOM) down 0.75 at 42.73 – change 1.73%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) down 0.09 at 14.21 – change 0.63%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) down 0.18 at 6.73 – change 2.61%

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) down 0.23 at 13.70 – change 1.66%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) down 0.66 at 18.52 – change 3.45%

Parsley Energy (PE) up 0.06 at 14.24 – change 0.42%

Phillips 66 (PSX) down 0.32 at 66.84 – change 0.48%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) down 0.02 at 114.36 – change 0.02%

Valero (VLO) down 1.57 at 54.77 – change 2.79%
