The shutdown of Shell’s refinery in Convent, Louisiana started this week.
Unable to sell the 211,146 barrel-per-day refinery, Shell made the decision last month to permanently close the operation. The operation had been suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lack of demand for gasoline.
