AG tells Seminole tribe ‘not so fast’

 

Even as the Oklahoma Supreme Court will hear a challenge to a move by regulators to continue enforcing oil and gas regulations on what is considered to still be Indian land in the state, one tribe is telling oil and gas operators they have to start paying taxes to the tribe.

The Oklahoman reported this week the move by the Seminole Nation prompted Attorney General Mike Hunter to notify the tribe to stop its efforts.
