Crude oil prices down 1% while Oklahoma energy stocks suffered with 3% and 4% losses

Not only did crude oil prices drop about 1% in Tuesday’s trading, but several Oklahoma energy stocks had losses of 3% and 4%. Crude slipped due to increased U.S. production and to growing optimism over the possible for an Israel-Hamas ceasefire.

West Texas Intermediate crude in the U.S. fell 70 cents or 0.9% to $81.93 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude settled down 54 cents or 0.6% to $87.86 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

For WTI and Brent, it was the second consecutive day for losses as both fell more than 1% in Monday’s trading.

June natural gas fell 4 cents to $1.99 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Tuesday’s trading ended with a lot of losses for Oklahoma energy stocks including a more than 3% fall for Chesapeake Energy, and 4% drops for Coterra Energy, Devon Energy, Gulfport Energy and Helmerich & Payne.

Other stocks also had a bad trading day according to the Texas Energy Report.

Exxon Mobil (XOM) down 1.37 at 118.27 – change 1.15%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) down 0.32 at 18.28 – change 1.73%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) down 1.10 at 26.85 – change 3.91%

NOV Inc. (NOV) down 0.86 at 18.48 – change 4.45%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) down 2.09 at 66.14 – change 3.07%

Phillips 66 (PSX) down 8.33 at 143.21 – change 5.50%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) down 4.28 at 269.32 – change 1.57%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) down 0.06 at 0.43 – change 12.23%

Valero (VLO) down 7.64 at 159.87 – change 4.57%
