Not a good day Thursday for Oklahoma energy stocks as most suffered losses in their trading, just as crude oil futures did.
The December contract for West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 25 cents to settle at $40.87, which represented a nearly 1% loss.
Global benchmark Brent crude fell 27 cents or about 1% to settle at $43.53 for the day in trading on ICE Futures Europe.
So it raises the question—did anything go up on Thursday?
Two companies stand out for their losses including PHX Minerals, the former Panhandle Oil and Gas that suffered a more than 11% drop following a loss of 20 cents as stocks settled to $1.59 per share.
Another was SandRidge Energy where its shares dropped nearly 9% or 23 cents before ending the day at $2.40.
Alliance Resource Partners fell 3% or a dime a share to finish the day at $3.31. Blueknight Energy Partners LP fell 5 cents for a 3.27% decline to $1.48. Chesapeake Energy Corporation dropped 8 cents for a 2.31% fall to $3.39.
Continental Resources, Inc. fell 3.48% or 49 cents per share to finish at $13.58. Cypress Environmental Partners LP stayed nearly the same at $1.97. Devon Energy Corp dropped 44 cents for a 3.77% decline to $11.22.
Enable Midstream Partners LP slipped 6 cents or 1.21% to settle at $4.90. Helmerich & Payne, Inc. finished at $16.54, down 74 cents or 4.28%. LSB Industries, Inc. ended down 5 cents for a 2.55% slip to $1.91.
Laredo Petroleum Inc. suffered a 9% fall of $1.02 per share before ending the day at $10.33. Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. fell 3 cents to $38.58. Mammoth Energy Services Inc. remained steady at $1.62.
Matrix Service Co. closed at $8.92 following a drop of 8 cents or about 1%. OGE Energy Corp. fell nearly 4% or $1.24 a share to end the day at $32.73. ONE Gas Inc. closed at $74.77 following a decline of 3.51% or $2.72 per share.
ONEOK, Inc. fell $1.35 or 4.20% to $30.77. Ovintiv Inc. finished the day at $10.34 following a 55 cent drop or 5.05%. WPX Energy Inc. dropped 26 cents or 4.35% to finish at $5.72. Williams Companies Inc. closed at $19.34 after a 69 cent drop or 3.44%.
The Texas Energy Report showed other energy stocks suffered losses too.
