More STACK Completions for Chesapeake Energy

Updating some of the newest reported completions in Oklahoma’s STACK, Chesapeake Operating had three successful wells near Hennessey.

According to the reports shown by OK Energy Today, it was a multi-unit site, 7 18N 5W or about 7 miles southeast of Hennessey in Kingfisher county.  The largest of the wells produced 263 Boed. The smallest had production of 83 Boed along with 977 Mcf of gas.  All three wells were spudded in April. Drilling finished in May and each had a separate completion date in June 2017. All three wells were in the Cain trust.

Chesapeake also had a well in Major county located about 4 miles northeast of Okeene, 22 20N 10W with production of 636 Boed and 1,524 Mcf of natural gas. Spud on the Osmus was in April followed by the end of drilling May and completion was reported May 27, 2017.

But Chesapeake also ended up temporarily abandoning two old wells near Billings in Noble County. Both vertical wells were drilled in 2002 with recompletion in July 2017. Their locations are about 4 miles southeast of Billings. One was at 14 23N 2W and the other at 16 23N 2W.

Houston’s Newfield Exploration continued its STACK operations and brought in a 569 boed well 7 miles southeast of Watonga. The Dorothy, 5 15N 10W was spudded, drilled and completed in September 2016 but just reported this month.
