Drilling Activity on the Increase in Kingfisher County

The oil and gas exploration in Oklahoma’s STACK isn’t letting up if one of the latest filings of permits to drill is any indication.

Seven requests for Kingfisher county were filed on March 27 as seen in OK Energy Today.

The requests were filed by Newfield Exploration, Overflow Energy LLC, and Chesapeake Energy.

Newfield filed two permits to drill, both at 34 16N 9W, an area south of state highway 3 and midway between Kingfisher and Watonga.

Overflow Energy, a company based in Booker, Texas applied to drill a well at 29 16N 5W, an area south of State highway 33 midway between Kingfisher and Cashion.

Chesapeake Energy filed four permits to drill. Three are located at 03 18N 6W, an area about 4 miles southeast of Hennessey. The fourth permit is for a drill site adjacent to the first three permits but located at 05 18N 5W.
