WPX Energy is trimming its workforce again. The oil and natural gas producer is cutting 41 additional jobs in Tulsa, which represents 6 percent of the company’s workforce, according to an announcement on Monday.

The cuts affect service-related positions related to measurement, land, marketing, finance, accounting, human resources and information technology. WPX said it will provide severance payments and outplacement assistance to those affected by the layoffs.

WPX will continue to employ nearly 450 people in Tulsa and almost 200 in its operating areas for a combined total of 650 employees. In comparison, the company employed nearly 1,100 people in September of last year.

In February, WPX announced that it would close its Oklahoma City office, resulting in a loss of 60 jobs. On April 19, 2016, OK Energy Today reported the elimination of 42 positions with the company.

“The transitions associated with prior asset sales are done. Now we’re fine tuning our processes and adjusting the size of the organization to support the scope of our business,” said Kelly Swan, WPX spokesman.
