Tornado leaves one dead in small Kansas town

The Westmoreland home belonging to Barry and Beverly Toburen took a direct hit Tuesday when a tornado touched down.

 

Oklahoma isn’t the only state reeling from deadly tornadoes. The small town of Westmoreland, Kansas was the site of a similar storm as an EF-3 tornado bore down on the residents Tuesday evening, leaving one person dead.

Westmoreland is the Pottawatomie County seat and located about 22 miles northeast of Manhattan. A reported 22 homes were destroyed and for some residents, they were lucky to have survived.
