While Oklahoma and the nation saw increased drilling rig counts in the past week, the June numbers also released by Houston-based Baker Hughes Incorporated showed an international rig count drop of 28 from May to June.
The June count stood at 927, a decline of 219 from the 1,146 reported in June 2015. The international offshore rig count for June 2016 was 223, a drop of 6 from May and a decline of 54 from June a year ago.
Baker Hughes indicated the U.S. rig count averaged 417 in June 2016, a slight increase of 9 from the 408 average in May but also a big drop of 444 from the June 2015 average of 861.
