Only Oklahoma’s Granite Wash oil and gas play saw a decline in rig activity over the past week, according to the recent Baker Hughes Rig count.
The play’s rig activity fell by one and left 12 other rigs still seeking new sources of oil and gas.
The state’s overall rig count fell by the one rig to 46 total. Oklahoma’s largest play, the Cana Woodford had an unchanged count of 21 rigs.
The Ardmore Woodford remained at 3 and the Arkoma Woodford continued with a single active rig. The Mississippian, which had been avoid of any drilling activity for months, at least based on the Baker Hughes report, still had one active rig.
The nation’s most active oil and gas play, the Permian Basin, declined by one to 270 rigs. The Williston stayed at 31 and the Utica remained at 12 rigs. The Marcellus had 24 rigs, unchanged from a week earlier. The Haynesville stayed at 36 and the Eagle Ford remained at 41.
