New branding for SPP

The Southwest Power Pool unveiled a new brand and published a report, Powering Progress Together, highlighting the value it delivers across a 17-state service territory.

The report, available at spp.org/value, emphasizes four dimensions of the value SPP provides: reliability, affordability, economic growth, and trust through transparent governance and independent oversight. SPP provides benefits at a 24-to-1 ratio compared to the average cost of members’ participation.

SPP has been recognized by industry experts and regulators for optimizing electric generation and transmission resources around the clock and thorough and detailed planning for a robust transmission infrastructure to meet future energy needs.

Facilitating collaborative regional stakeholder engagement, SPP provides $4.7 billion in net annual savings to its members and helps manage 86,000 miles of transmission lines and more than 1,000 generators to serve more than 20 million people in our footprint.

“This report and our new brand reflect the passion and energy we bring to our mission of keeping the lights on,” said SPP President and CEO Lanny Nickell. “As demand for reliable and affordable power accelerates, we’re focused on delivering forward-looking solutions that strengthen the grid and support our members. SPP provides the scale, coordination, and innovation that is difficult for individual utilities to replicate.”
