Another of the latest prospects for a data center in Oklahoma is in the eastern Oklahoma County town of Luther and it’s being met with some skepticism and lots of questions from some residents.
A recent town-hall meeting was held where some details were offered by a representative of Beltline Energy, a firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Residents who attended were informed a 400-acre site east of the Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company’s Redbud Power Plant.
Ryan Sanders, a managing partner of Beltline Energy explained the project is in its early stages and according to the Luther Register, “years away from realization.”
The Beltline Energy website showed the firm has 67 energy projects in operation, 11,300 acres under control, provides 865 MW of energy to more than 50 communities and has $808 million of capital investment in operational renewable energy projects. The firm stated it originated as a renewable energy developer specializing in delivering supplly side, Utility Scale Solar solutions in the southeast part of the U.S.
