Colorado oil well blowout called “rare”

“Very rare and unprecedented situation.” It’s what one Colorado official says of a blowout last month at a Chevron-operated oil well in the northern part of the state.

The April 6 incident occurred near the town of Galeton in northeast Colorado and led to an investigation by the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission.
