Pushback is growing against a proposed federal electric transmission corridor that would run along the western side of the Oklahoma Panhandle.
It is coming largely from counties in southeastern Colorado and some has been led by controversial congresswoman Lauren Boebert.
The corridor is similar to one that was killed across northern Oklahoma because of strong opposition by landowners, legislators and Gov. Kevin Stitt. The so-called Southwestern Grid Connector could potentially run south through Colorado’s eastern plains and into Oklahoma and New Mexico.
