A lot has changed since 2022 when Oklahoma lawmakers created a law outlawing ESG or Environmental, Social and Governance applications by financing companies such as BlackRock Inc., the world’s largest asset manager.
In recent months, BlackRock, known for being on the state Treasurer’s list of companies banned from doing business with state agencies, has reversed is policies. As for the law, it was put on hold last year by an Oklahoma County District Court judge and the matter is before the State Supreme Court.
The Wall Street Journal reviewed what has happened to prompt BlackRockto change its policy.
