Three Oklahoma oil plays see increase in rig activity

 

Three of Oklahoma’s oil plays saw gains in oil and gas rigs in the past week, according to the Baker Hughes Co. rig report.

The Cana Woodford gained two rigs to reach a total of 21. The Ardmore Woodford count grew by one to 3 rigs while the Arkoma Woodford continued for another week with no reported rig activity.

The state’s other play to see an increase was the Granite Wash where the count grew one to a total of 9 rigs.

Baker Hughes reported still no drilling activity in the Mississippian which also stretches into Kansas.

The Permian Basin activity was unchanged at 304 rigs from the previous week. The Williston remained at 33 rigs while the Marcellus gained one rig to reach 24. The Utica continued with 11 rigs.

The D-J Basin stayed at 6 rigs and the Eagle Ford was unchanged at 48 rigs. The Haynesville had no change in its count of 30 rigs. The Barnett in north Texas remained at one rig.
