A most interesting development exists in northwest Oklahoma when it comes to gasoline prices.
Woodward is an island of low gasoline prices and surrounded by some of the highest averages in the state. The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Woodward County is $2.64 while surrounding counties are more than $3 per gallon, according to AAA.
Ellis County’s average is $3.09 while Woods County has an average of $3.07 and Dewey County is at $2.94.
Oklahoma’s average gasoline price this week is $2.73, down two cents from a week ago and 7 cents lower compared to a month earlier.
The average price in Oklahoma City is $2.74, a penny lower than a week ago and 6 cents under the $2.80 recorded one month ago.
Tulsa’s average is $2.62, down from $2.63 last week and 16 cents lower than a month earlier.
Gasoline prices in Lawton average $2.62, down from a week ago when the average was $2.70.
The state’s highest average is still firmly in the hands of Coal County at $3.12.
The national average, according to AAA, is $3.13 per gallon, three cents cheaper than a week earlier.
Oklahoma’s $2.73 average compares to $2.68 in Texas, $2.78 in Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas, $3.17 in Colorado and $2.98 in New Mexico.
