The fight against carbon dioxide pipelines in the state of Iowa is heating up as more groups plan to wage a battle against at least one approved such pipeline network.
It could lead to a delay of months or a year or more for Summit Carbon Solutions, the company that wants to build a pipeline system in five states to carry captured carbon dioxide from dozens of ethanol plans to North Dakota where it would be put into underground storage.
The Iowa Capital Dispatch reports at least four groups indicated they plan to challenge the recent decision of the Iowa Utilities Commission to grant approval for the project.
