Lower oil prices prompt administration to refill Strategic Petroleum Reserve

 

Heavily criticized by Oklahoma’s congrerssional delegation for using the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve, the Biden administration has restarted plans to refill the depleted emergeny oil cache.

Lower crude oil prices are helping the administration take advantage as it seeks more than 3 million barrrels of oil. Higher prices over the past several months prompted the White House to delay its original decision announced last fall.
