Kansas Governor vetoes bill to ban China ownership of state land

Arkansas yes. Kansas no, when it comes to banning China’s companies from owning land in the state.

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly vetoed a bill to ban Chinese or Communist firms from owning real estate in Kansas. She claims the bill was too broad and might even be subject to legal challenge.

“While I agree that it is important for our state to implement stronger protections against foreign adversaries, this legislation contains multiple provisions that are likely unconstitutional and cause unintended consequences,” Kelly wrote in her veto message reported the Wichita Eagle.
