Transportation Secretary endorses high speed rail project in Texas

The proposed high-speed train between Dallas and Houston gets the support of the Biden Administration’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

He says the project has “enormous potential” and he’s excited about it.

What makes it exciting for him? The way the cities are laid out in Texas, creating a “Texas Triangle” featuring Houston, San Antonio, through Austin to Dallas. They are either a long drive or a short flight in between the cities and Buttigieg contends it makes it a prime case for high-speed rail.

He called it “one of the most interesting and promising projects to come next.” reported NBCDFW TV news.
