Amazon becomes largest private EV charging operator in US

 

The cost is something the company doesn’t want to discuss, but Amazon has quietly and quickly become the largest private EV charging operator in the country.

The firm completed installation of 17,000 electric vehicle chargers at 120 of its warehouses across the nation. It took Amazon two years to complete the installation.

It’s part of the Seattle-based company’s effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from its countless number of delivery vans and trucks. Despite a 2019 pledge by owner Jeff Bezos to reduce the emissions, they increased by nearly 40% in 2022. Its greater challenge is emissions reductions from its long-haul trucking.
