Oklahoma among top ten renewable energy producing states

A new study finds that Oklahoma is one of the top 20 states in the U.S. for its production of renewable energy.

The state ranks number 6 in the U.S., largely because of the wind power and wind farms that exist. The ranking is based on 2022 figures showing Oklahoma produced 39.72 TWh of renewable energy.

Wind power produced the highest share of total renewable energy power generation in the state, according to a report by Insider Monkey.

Another big wind energy producer is Iowa and it is ranked fourth on the list.

Number one producer of renewable energy? Texas with 139.32 terawatt hours.
