Crude oil prices hit 4-month high while natural gas made a gain too

Monday’s trading brought a 2% gain for crude oil prices as they hit a four-month high following word of lower crude exports from Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Plus, there were indications of stronger demand and economic growth in China, according to Reuters.

West Texas Intermediate crude, considered the U.S. benchmark, went up $1.68 or 2.1% per barrel to settle at $82.72 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude, the global benchmark increased $1.55 or 1.8% and finished the day at $86.89 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

April natural gas rose 4 cents to $1.70 per 1,000 cubic feet.

The majority of Oklahoma energy stocks recorded gains during Monday’s trading.

Other energy stocks were mixed in trading, according to the Texas Energy Report.
