Still awaiting shareholder approval of its recently-announced merger with Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy, Houston’s Southwestern Energy company plans to release its fourth quarter earnings report this week.
The release will be on February 22 after the market close, according to Southwestern. It will be available on the company website, www.swn.com.
Due to the pending merger with Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Southwestern will not host a conference call or webcast to discuss fourth quarter 2023 results.
The third quarter results announced in November 2023 showed the company generated $45 million in net income with $106 million in adjusted net income, $513 million of adjusted EBITDA and $477 million net cash from operating activities.
It also ended the third quarter with $4.1 billion in total debt which was down from the $4.4 billion reported at the end of the 2022 fiscal year.
Southwestern’s merger with Chesapeake Energy was announced in early January. Shareholders of both firms have yet to meet and vote on the move.
Chesapeake Energy plans to release its fourth quarter and full year operational and financial results after the close of markets on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Unlike Southwestern, Chesapeake intends to hold a conference call where leadership will discuss the results on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 8 a.m. Central Time.
