Not only are Oklahoma members of the U.S.House and Senate angry over President Biden’s moratorium on NGL exports and project developments, but dozens of former officials in the past two Republican administrations say he’s wrong and should reverse his freeze.
Biden made the move under pressure from environmental activists who say it will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. But nearly three dozen former officials including former energy secretaries Rick Perry and Dan Brouillette wrote to lawmakers who head energy and foreign affairs committees in Congress.
“It is imperative that we reverse this action and continue to advance our economic, energy, and geopolitical interests while leading on environmental progress,” the former officials said in the letter reported Reuters.
