Crude oil rose on Friday as concerns exist over Middle East fighting

The International Energy Agency report about slowing demand for crude oil wasn’t enough to offset growing concerns about the Middle East and the fighting there. As a result, crude oil prices on Friday rose.
West Texas Intermediate crude finished up $1.16 or 1.49% per barrel at $79.19 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The March contract expires Tuesday and the April contract closed up 87 cents to $78.46 a barrel.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose 61 cents or 0.74% and finished at $83.47 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
March natural gas rose 3 cents to $1.61 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It was a day of gains for some Oklahoma energy stocks and losses for others.
Empire Petroleum finished down 4% while Mach Natural Resources recorded a gain of 6%.
