Crude oil, natural gas and OK energy stocks finished the week down on Friday

Crude oil prices dropped about 3% in Friday’s trading and Oklahoma energy stocks also did not fare well for the day with most recording losses.

Oil prices took a nose-dive after a U.S. central bank policymaker interested interest rate cuts might be delayed for another two more months.

West Texas Intermediate crude futures, considered the benchmark for oil prices in the U.S. dropped $2.12 or 2.7% per barrel to settle at $76.49 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. For the week, WTI finished down more than 3%.

The global benchmark, Brent crude, dropped $2.05 or 2.5% per barrel to finish the day at $81.62 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. Brent closed the week down about 2%.

March natural gas fell 13 cents to $1.60 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Only a handful of Oklahoma energy stocks managed gains in Friday’s trading. The rest suffered losses. Vital Energy had the biggest drop at nearly 3% while several others were at 2%.

Other energy stocks, according to the Texas Energy Report, also were down for the day.

Exxon Mobil (XOM) down 0.92 at 103.84 – change 0.88%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) down 0.01 at 17.25 – change 0.06%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) down 0.20 at 23.78 – change 0.84%

NOV Inc. (NOV) down 0.18 at 17.23 – change 1.04%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) down 0.51 at 60.02 – change 0.85%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 0.49 at 147.11 – change 0.33%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) down 1.44 at 232.48 – change 0.62%
