Crude oil made gains while Oklahoma energy stocks tumbled

A few things resulted in gains on Tuesday in crude oil prices—the Middle East conflict, the war in Ukraine and the U.S. Fed is waiting longer to cut rates as inflation stays elevated.

But Oklahoma energy stocks went the opposite direction—down.

As a result, West Texas Intermediate crude rose 95 cents or 1.24% and closed at $77.87 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude, the global benchmark, settled up 77 cents or 0.94% at $82.77 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

March natural gas fell 8 cents to $1.69 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Tuesday was not a good day for Oklahoma energy stocks as most, with a few exceptions, lost for the day. Mammoth Energy suffered a nearly 10% drop and ONE Gas fell more than 5%.
