Crude oil stocks fiinished 2023 down 10% for the year as of Friday and Oklahoma energy stocks slid downward too.
Geopolitical turmoil and worries about the oil production levels led the main causes.
West Texas Intermediate crudee finished down 12 cents or 0.17% for the day, settling at $71.65 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude dropped 11 cents or 0.14% to $77.04 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Both contracts slipped more than 10% in 2023 to close out the year at their lowest year-end levels since 2020.
February natural gas fell 5 cents to $2.51 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks finished the last day of the trading year with losses.
