Crude oil prices gained about 2% in Tuesday’s trading while Oklahoma energy stocks suffered losses for the day. The Middle East crisis and a Libyan supply outage led to some of the gains for the day.
US benchmark, West Texas Intermediate dropped $1.47 or 2.1% to finish at $72.24 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude closed down $1.47 or 1.9% at $775.59 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
February natural gas rose 21 cents to $3.19 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks recorded mostly losses for the day.
