Xcel cuts workforce due to inflation challenges

Inflation and supply chain constraints are being blamed for Xcel Energy’s decision to lay off nearly 150 workers nationwide, including more than 50 in Colorado.

The Minnesota-based company confirmed the layoffs in a recent statement issued to Denver TV station, Fox 31.

“Xcel Energy, like many companies, continues to experience financial headwinds from inflation, supply chain pressures and increased hiring during the pandemic. We’ve already taken several steps to counteract these challenges to best support our customers and communities, deliver on our stakeholder commitments and continue our clean-energy leadership,”reported Fox 31.
