Oklahoma U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin nearly came to blows Tuesday with union leader Sean O’Brien during a Tuesday Senate hearing and at one point stood up preparing for a fight.

The Republican Senator, who is a former mixed martial arts fighter, issued the challenge to O’Brien who is the General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. His challenge was offered after Mullin read O’Brien’s tweets and called him a “clown” and a “fraud.”

“Sir, this is a time, this is a place. You want to run your mouth, we can be two consenting adults, we can finish it here,” Mullin said from the hearing room dais.

“OK, that’s fine. Perfect,” O’Brien shot back, reported The Hill.

“You want to do it now?” Mullin asked. “Stand your butt up then.”

He stood up and that’s when committee chairman Bernie Sanders of Vermont intervene to stop the argument and threats of a brawl in the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee room.
