Regulators seek industry input on methane leaking program

The federal government’s push to crack down on methane gas emissions from the nation’s oil and gas wells has the Oklahoma Corporation Commission attempting to carry out the mission.

As a result, the Commission’s Oil and Gas Conservation Division wants input from those in the industry regarding development of a protocol to follow the required methane testing of wells and their plugging of abandoned ones. Funding will be provided by thr Infrastructure and Jobs Act.

A virtual meeting with all interested parties will be held on the matter this Friday, November 17 at 1:00pm, announced the Division.
