The small gains recorded by crude oil in Thursday’s trading left global benchmark Brent crude just above $80 a barrel while Oklahoma energy stocks experienced another day of losses.
Concerns of declining demands for gasoline and easing of concerns about the war in Gaza paved the way for the results.
West Texas Intermediate rose 69 cents or 0.92% to reach $76.02 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude gained 71 cents or 0.91% at $80.26 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Wednesday’s drop resulted in the lowest levels for both benchmarks since the middle of July.
Natural gas was up a penny at$3.04 for a change of 0.39%.
For most Oklahoma energy stocks, it was a day of more losses including a 9% drop for Empire Petroleum and 4% for Mach Natural Resources.
