Train derailment kills truck driver near Pueblo, Colorado

A semi-truck driver was killed Sunday when a coal train derailed off a bridge and onto the roadway near Pueblo, Colorado.

The derailment left part of Colorado’s Interstate 25 shut down in both directions. Crews for BNSF Railway helped with the cleanup of the ten rail cars that slid off the tracks and over the side of a bridge. No one on the train was injured but the cars and the coal toppled onto the truck, killing the male driver.

The bridge extends over both lanes of I-25 and partially collapsed when the derailment occurred.
