Solar and wind receive more government subsidies than oil and gas

Fossil fuel industry received $24.5 billion in subsidies last year while renewable energy sources received a staggering $83.8 billion in subsidies, the report showed.

 

A new government report confirms what many in the oil and gas industry have contended since Joe Biden became President—his administration gives more subsidies to renewable energy than to the fossil fuel industry.

No surprise, but the 59-page report by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration also showed that the solar industry is heavily dependent on government subsidies.
