Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) was one of 27
companies recognized Wednesday for hiring and supporting U.S. military veterans.
The recognition came during a ceremony held at Lemley Campus of Tulsa Tech Center. For the fifth consecutive year, the Oklahoma Veteran Alliance (OVA) recognized PSO as a Veteran Employer Champion.
The OVA is a partnership of the Community Service Council,
Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, the Tulsa mayor’s office, and area businesses. The recognition is the second for PSO this year from the OVA. In September, OVA named PSO
its 2023 Veteran Employer of the Year.
PSO has nearly 200 veteran employees and a dedicated veteran recruiter. PSO’s Military Veteran Employee Resource Group promotes the roles and contributions of veterans and active-duty military members and serves as liaison to the veteran and military communities.
“Hiring qualified veterans is the right thing to do and the right business choice for PSO,” said PSO President and Chief Operating Officer Leigh Anne Strahler. “Veterans bring character, discipline, and team-building skills to the job. They improve our service to our customers and make us a stronger company.
