Crude oil prices managed a 1% gain on Thursday while Oklahoma energy stocks recorded losses, thanks to traders who are nervous over the deadly fighting and bombing in Israel and Gaza.
West Texas Intermediate crude, considered the US benchmark, rose $1.05 cents or 1.2% to finish at $89.37 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
The global benchmark, Brent crude, went up 88 cents for a 1% gain to close at $92.38 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
November natural gas fell 10 cents to $2.96 per 1,000 cubic feet.
The day brought losses for most Oklahoma energy stocks with Helmerich & Payne registering a 4% drop for the day.
The Texas Energy Report indicated other energy stocks were mixed for the day.
