U.S. crude oil prices held steadfastly on Friday to more than $90 a barrel, closing at just a few cents higher than the mark as markets focused on supply concerns stemming from Russia’s fuel export ban.
Oklahoma energy stocks recorded moderate gains for the day.
West Texas Intermediate crude closed up 40 cents or 0.5% at $90.03 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
But Brent crude, considered the global benchmark finished 3 cents down or 0.3% at $93.27 a baarrel on ICE Futures Europe. The fall broke a three week streak of gains reported Reuters.
October natural gas rose 3 cents to $2.64 per 1,000 cubic feet.
For the day, Oklahoma energy stocks recorded gains, with the largest being more than 6% for Empire Petroleum Corporation.
Many other energy stocks finished Friday with gains on the day according to the Texas Energy Report.
