Oilfield thieves hit Oklahoma

Oil field thefts are being reported in northeast Oklahoma’s Osage County and the sheriff’s office wants some public help in finding the culprits.
The thefts don’t involve oil but rather oilfield equipment, as the Osage County Sheriff showed this week in a Facebook posting. The social-media posting indicated the thefts happened at oilfield locations in southern Osage County, between Prue and Hominy along County Road 1701. It also displayed pictures of the thefts as they occurred.

“Game cameras have captured images of two individuals believed to be involved in the theft of electric motors and the removal of brass components from saltwater pumps. These incidents can result in costly damage, operational disruptions, and potential safety concerns,” according to the sheriff’s office.
