Monday produced a down day for crude oil prices as well as Oklahoma energy stocks with one firm recording a 17% loss for the day.
Continued worries about China’s falling economy along with a stronger dollar took the momentum out of seven weeks of gains.
West Texas Intermediate crude finished down 68 cents or 0.82% at $82.51 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude fell 60 cents or 0.69% to close at $86.21 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
September natural gas rose 2 cents to $2.80 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It was a day of losses for most Oklahoma energy stocks with Mammoth Energy recording a drop of more than 17%.
Other energy stocks finished with losses, according to the Texas Energy Report.
