Major study finds infrastructure is holding back EV growth

What’s holding back the electric vehicle growth in the US? Sure, battery development is one bump in the road, but a new study finds the major issue is the charging infrastructure.

Oklahoma’s still in the early stages of trying to develop a charging system across its major interstates and highways. Kansas is doing the same, as we indicated in a story elsewhere in our newsletter.

The issue caught the attention of researchers who found that overall satisfaction continues to decline with EVs, according to the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Public Charging Study,SM released Wednesday.

It found customer satisfaction declined in the past year and reached the lowest level since the study began in 2021.
