Crude oil prices and Oklahoma energy stocks dropped in Tuesday’s trading. Oil fell on word of new data reflecting the sluggish Chinese economy.
West Texas Intermediate crude,the U.S. benchmark, fell $1.52 or 1.8% to finish at $80.99 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, the global benchmark, dropped $1.32 or 1.5% to settle at $84.89 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
September natural gas rose 2 cents to $2.80 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Tuesday proved to be a weak day in trading for Oklahoma energy stocks. LSB Industries and NGL Energy Partners each recorded 4% losses for the day.
The downward trend was also followed by other energy stocks, according to the Texas Energy Report.
