A mineral rights fight involving a private land owner and a New Mexico oil company resulted in a Supreme Court decision this month which sided with the oil firm.
Justices agreed that Premier Oil and Gas of Artesia had properly and legally acquired the mineral rights from the previous land owners. The heirs of the former owners brought suit but the court rled Premier was the “bon fide purchaser” reported the Carlsbad Current-Argus.
